Position: Recreational Coach

Location: Capitol City Gymnastics, 3518 Rohr Road, Groveport, OH 43125

Reports to: Gym Owner

Hours of work: Part-Time (Hours will vary)

Compensation: The starting salary for our junior coaches is $13/hour.

For our coaches who have graduated high school, the starting salary is $15/hour.

SUMMARY: The Recreational Coach leads and supervises our recreational gymnastics classes, provides courteous customer services to our member families, and cultivates a safe, fun environment. CCG coaches are assigned to coach at least one weekly class per session. Those with commensurate expertise are eligible to offer private lessons in the gym according to their own schedule and self-determined pricing. Our coaches take turns overseeing our weekly Friday night open gyms and rotate supervision of birthday parties on the weekends. Naturally, our ideal applicants are hardworking, team-oriented, reliable, punctual, and communicative.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plan and coach recreational gymnastics classes

• Actively coach, spot, and motivate gymnasts

• Teach proper techniques and develop gymnasts’ skills

• Positively communicate with students, parents, and coworkers

• Supervise open gym

• Monitor and track student progress and provide evaluations

• Attend various gym functions such as holiday parades, Trunk or Treat, and skills shows

• Assist with parent meetings as needed

• Know and assist with office procedures, as needed

• Daily cleaning of gymnastics equipment and facility, including bathrooms

• Identify and resolve problems wisely, and gain cooperation among interested groups

PREREQUISITES:

• USA Gymnastics background check

• USA Gymnastics Safe Sport Course

• USA Gymnastics Certification

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time; hand-eye coordination; spotting and lifting athletes of various ages and sizes; lifting and moving gym equipment over 50 lbs.

ATTENDANCE POLICY: 30 day advance written notice of time-off will need to be provided

If notice of absence is provided less than 24 hours prior to scheduled work shift it will be considered an unexcused absence. The third unexcused absence will place the employee at the risk of termination. Time off requests will need to be submitted in writing and need manager approval. If at some time you choose to end employment with Capitol City Gymnastics a 30 notice is required.
